When I got mine you got the endorsement the same day and had to come back and get it removed if anything came up on the TSA check. Now you have to wait until it clears, and then your updated license comes inthe mail. You need to make 2 appointments, one for the tests and the other for the fingerprints. Don’t do it at Glen Burnie if you can avoid it.

The TWIC card is an entirely different animal and I can’t help you with that one since I refuse to get one of those.

Texas is its own animal for hazmat. But for TWIC google TSA or TWIC application. You can call the TSA appointment line select the TWIC option. The agent can tell you where the closest TSA facility doing TWIC is and schedule you an appointment for that facility. It is super easy I set up my appointment last week I go to Austin this Thursday to do the whole thing in person. The issue time they estimated to be 60 days after my application. The Twic application fee is currently $125.25 and due at the time of the application. I had one a long time ago the process isn't difficult just make your appointment time.

Some states will give a discount if you get the Hazmat and Twic done at the same time. Check with your state.

You can schedule the appointments for the HME and TWIC fingerprinting at the same time. It's stupid that you have to pay twice and have it done twice, but that's the way it is.

It was 1995... I don't remember back that far! What's a TWIC card?

Transportation Worker Identification Credential. Needed to get into ports. Including companies that operate on a waterway, like chemical plants, refineries etc. Have to get the same fingerprinting and background check you do for the Hazmat endorsement.

I just got my hazmat and tanker here in Wisconsin. Went and took the tests and passed both. They gave me a form with info on how to schedule an appointment for my fingerprints. She told me once the background check comes back they send you the license in the mail with the hazmat endorsement on it.

On the wisconsin dot site I could punch in my info on my driver's license and go through and interactive licensing guide where I told them what I wanted to do and it gave me step by step directions on what I needed to do and what forms I needed

As far as getting a TWIC , wait until you hire on to a company. Normally they will foot the bill(most will make you pay the cost back if you quit within a certain time frame) and help you get it. Most ports and refineries require the card.
