Do that on a road test from most potential employers and you fail. Keep that door closed.

 

really wow i didnt know that my bad i took my test in a friends day cab pulling a dump trailer i'll admit i cheated though i glanced out the corner of my eye out the back window passed first shot with only 1 hour practice in a big truck...can u say load off my mind when the instructor said i passed haha

Opening the door with a moving vehichle.would be a fail in MI from the rules I read.

I think you will find that any state using the 2005 test model (And all are supposed to be and WV for certain does) will not allow this. The student will be told to drive past the entrance and be straight and perpendicular to the lane. That's the starting point. The lane is 12'X40" with a boundary line of cones 70' in front of the lane, perpendicular to it. You must be reasonably parallel to the boundary cones (Perpendicular to the lane) to start.

ya you pull up to the spot just past the cones.

 

Opening the door while backing IS A FAIL! I did it and the examiner told me to close the door and keep it closed or I will fail the CDL test.
