Best for me might not be even on the list for you. It all depends on what YOU want, need and expect from your particular GPS.
Do you want a 7" screen that's easy to see or do you want a 4" that neatly tucks up into a corner?
Do you want Lifetime Maps or do you want to save money and not have Lifetime Maps?
Do you want a traffic compatible GPS? If so do you want lifetime traffic or only one year at a time subscription or do you not want traffic at all?
Do you want a high definition screen or do you want to save money and get a lower definition screen?
Do you want a unit specifically made to help you route a truck or are you putting it in a car?
Do you want a unit that you can also use on your motorcycle? If so do you want it to be waterproof?
Garmin, Tom Tom and Rand McNally all three use different menu format. Are you used to a certain format? Do you like that format? Do you want to stay with that format, or do you want to change to a different brand specifically to get away from that format?
Those are only some of the questions that need to be answered in order for anybody to be able to assist you in picking out the ideal unit for you and your particular wants, needs and use.Avantguard Thanks this. -

My apologies, I had meant to give you a little bit of advice in addition to telling you what I did above about your question.
My advice is to figure out what features you want in a GPS as far as screen size resolution, Lifetime Maps or not, traffic with lifetime annual or no traffic, if you want a truck and RV specific unit or not all those sort of things and then shop for price.
All GPS is All Brands will give you weird screwed up routes from time to time you from time to time. You cannot rely 100% on any of them ever. You always have to check and verify your route before you begin a trip. Always be prepared to deviate from that route if something just does not look right to you. -
No worries.
I'd probably prefer a larger screen as my eyes aren't getting any younger. Lifetime maps and traffic are preferable, and I'm specifically looking for something to help me avoid tolls. This would be for truck use only. I've never given them more than a passing glance, so I'm not sure that I have a preference as far as the menu format. I figure you'll come to prefer whatever you begin using.
Thanks for the tips.
