Another BIG question is is that sleeper berth outfitted with DOT legal seats and restraint systems bolted to the floor to carry more than the passenger to your right seat?

Its best if you call the d.o.t and ask them. Since you only have a permit you wont be able to cross state lines and someone thats going with you will have to have a class a license and be sitting im the passenger seat at all times that you are driving. The med card i have no idea

Yep, you need a Class A since it will also be a combination vehicle and most likely at a minimum air brakes.
It will be very hard for three drivers with full CDL's and experience not to tease you for every little boo boo you make going down the road grasshopper he he he.Johnnymic7 Thanks this. -

This is not a grey area, even though he is a private entertainment company, if he makes profit off of these tours then he is a "private motor carrier of property-interstate". To drive for such an entity you would have to meet all the requirements of a interstate driver including pre-employment/random drug test, medical card, background check, and employment application even with this being an unpaid internship. Same principle applies when you go to a private cdl school, they have to qualify you just as if you were being hired to drive their truck. Or volunteer to drive your local church bus, the church still has to qualify and treat you as if you were an employee.
I would get the medical exam, it isn't expensive and you will need it anyhow once you start driving for a living. I see you are from Long Island, if you get up to Middletown, NY there is a great DOT place called Partners in Safety that does physicals for $65, and does them well. They also have Rockland and Westchester locations, but I don't know if their pricing is the same or not.
