    hello everyone,
I don't know if this is the right forum to post this is but here goes. So my dad has a 2012 volvo which has been pain in the ### for quite some time. first the mechanic said the head was getting cracked and needed to be replaced. spent 9000 dollars and took it for a drive .first hill that it went up it lost power and shut down had to get it towed and now he says its the block that has issues. I wanted to see if anyone knows any place, auction or website where we can buy the whole engine? Or maybe you can guide me in the right direction.
Thank you guys for your help in advance.

You guys need to find an honest shop. Try not to deal with the one that did the work.

What engine is in the truck?

Find an honest shop. D13 blocks are very stout. Unless it has been severely over heated.....the block is fine. How many miles?

So now the mechanic is getting a replacement engine for 7k. But I don't think this is worth it. I am posting a few pics .Let me know what you guys think .it has a few cracked parts so the mechanic is saying he will switch out the parts from the one that is originally on right now. Why do I have the feeling that he is screwing us over !!!!!!!

Holy ####! Just put a cheap old series 60 in it. Problem solved. The shop that billed you $9000 owes you money back.
A series 60 bought and installed by a good shop would be around $10,000 total, if engine was cheap.

@Oldironfan Careless advice. The price would be North of 30k. I doubt a shop would want the hassle.

I think you are being over priced. A series 60 old style pre get can be bought cheap. DDEC 2, and 3 are even cheaper. Say around $2500 running. You need a real mechanic.

It is amusing you think this is an easy swap. Not to mention it would be illegal but ok.

    DUNE-T Thanks this.
