NEED HELP WITH VOLVO PLEASE!!!!

hello everyone,
I don't know if this is the right forum to post this is but here goes. So my dad has a 2012 volvo which has been pain in the ### for quite some time. first the mechanic said the head was getting cracked and needed to be replaced. spent 9000 dollars and took it for a drive .first hill that it went up it lost power and shut down had to get it towed and now he says its the block that has issues. I wanted to see if anyone knows any place, auction or website where we can buy the whole engine? Or maybe you can guide me in the right direction.

The miles are around 700K. So now the mechanic is getting a replacement engine for 7k. But I don't think this is worth it. I am posting a few pics .Let me know what you guys think .it has a few cracked parts so the mechanic is saying he will switch out the parts from the one that is originally on right now. Why do I have the feeling that he is screwing us over !!!!!!!
