It seems drivers are split. Some drivers would starve to death if they could not find a waitress while others attempt to eat out of cooler exclusively.

I'm trying to get a decently accurate estimate of how many people use the plug ins vs the traditional coolers. I have a survey made that I'm going to post on a new thread and delete this one out of courtesy.

Ice packs are almost useless. They last for a day, then they are in the way. If you could freeze them you don't need them. put your food where you freeze the ice pack. Ice is more effective but you need a larger cooler since it fills the cooler. Eventually EVERYONE gets tired of buying ice & dumping water.

what you spend on the super cooler will be more than electric cooler. Both have advantages & disadvantages. My 40qt electric was $100 or less at Walmart. Including 3 power cords & fuses plus new motor every 1-3 years you might be up to $200 for 3 years full time cool food.

If you had a source of frozen ice packs at any truck stop, and it were cheaper to purchase one than it would be to buy a bag of ice, would you go for it? I know this is theoretical, but I'm just asking.

put a thermometer in it. I used one for inside/outside use that had a 20 foot temp bulb. My cooler was in sleeper but digital thermometer was on my dash. I could tell that my food was cold or the minute the cooler blew a fuse.

cheaper than a dollar or two? not likely. It still robs storage space & creates water you have to dump. I'd rather have a dorm fridge, if not that 12v cooler because I have experience with it working well enough if you take care of them.
