That's what I used to use (still got it...just don't use it any more).
As someone already said...works great if you take care of it. Blow the dust and dust bunnies off the fan, cooling module, and intake from time to time, and it'll last a long time.
Eventually the motor may burn out...but a replacement motor is cheap, and can be installed by a monkey (and some people).

I use the plug in one, not the one that will heat also but just the cooling one. It's lasted over a year now but today it started making some wild noises but still working. I can get a case of 12oz cans in it, not sure how many long necks it will fit. A lot of 7oz in sure though and 1 pack of lunch meat :)

I like my water at room temperature, and other than that I don't carry any foods that are perishable.

It isn't the 'motor' that usually fails, it is the cooling fans.
Once the thermo element goes bad you will simply buy a new cooler. And it does lose efficiency over time, like a year or two.

I have a bad fan in my Coleman right now. Luckily it isn't the main large fan, it is the small one inside.
Things still stay cool, and rather cold up front. But it needs that little fan to move the air around inside to be really effective.

But if you go with a 12V cooler you need to think before you buy.
The fans are the usual thing to fail, and you need to be able to replace them easily.
Most other coolers use odd fan sizes and types, and usually you will need to order them from the manufacturer. The Coleman uses standard size computer fans so they are easily replaced. And they mount on heat sink fins, not dedicated holes, so there is some flexibility with the size.
The outside is a 92mm case fan, but I have also used a 80mm when I could not find the 92. I've also used a 112mm round CPU fan. That was a tight fit, but it worked. (I had to buy a CPU fan/heatsink combo, then just use the fan)

I have a small lunchbox that has some fruit, nuts, and whatever my wife made for dinner the night before. I have the "blue ice" but there is a small liquor store near where I get loaded (no pun intended) that I'll grab a soda and pretzels. The owner, George, hooks me up with a bag of ice when I stop by on occasion. He calls me the 18 wheeler haha. I'm a daycab driver. APU's and inverters are foreign to me but they sound awesome.
