Hello everyone. I'm a very experience trucking vet w about 20 years experience.
I have decided to get into car hauling for many reasons that make sense for me.

Lets please not get off on a tangent telling me why you think I should try something else.

Anyway, if you were new to carhauling, which trailer manufacturer, model and capacity would you buy and why? Hi mounts only.

I value everyone's experience so please help out a fellow hardworking Proud American.

BTW, I have a 2015 volvo 630 with a 225" wheelbase and an IShift Automatic trans.

What do you plan to haul?

    New cars? Used cars? Inops?

    Trucks cars or SUV? Mixed?

Used cars, minivans, Suv's and occasional pickups. A general mix.
    No new cars.

For high mounts, Cotrell makes some pretty great units that will fit a typical used wholesale mix. Keep in mind, with a high mount you are not a automobile transporter in the eyes of the Federal government so you may not be allowed to overhang in most states. I have had three Miller units, they have been decent units and on my newest one I can fit a full size pickup truck in the belly which helps you build some creative loads. I will say the build quality is much better on the Cotrell units. Wally Mo also has some decent units, but I do not have any experience with them.

Self serving note: I currently have a 2014 Miller T7S high-mount up for sale, $65,000 for the trailer. It is self contained so you do not need a pto/wetline on your tractor, in very good shape and worked daily.

So does my stinger. Put too much h heavy stuff on overweight. I suggest air weigh system. Wish I had one. Cottrell build quality longevity seems to be the best.

The Lt is a avout 2000 lbs lighter because it doesn't have all the tables(split decks) on top.

The trailer BRIAN posted is a great piece of equipment. Also much less expensive than a Cottrell. Look close. You will like what it is.
