You do realize that there's a huge difference in a 3406E 475/550 and a 3406E 355/410 right? It's way more than a software change for a low horse E model to survive. The lower horse E used a 1 piece aluminium piston while the higher horse E used a steelcrown/ aluminum skirt. All E model cats are not equal
Mine was born a 435. Since then I have dropped a 550 Brakessaver file. I’m running 58’s and a BorgWarner stage 1 turbo. All this on a RTO 15613. I did have a 5DS 601/2050 in it but it ran to good. And it wouldn’t pass the opacity smoke test here in Cali. 7.0 mpg all day long , last full up 7.3
Hello everyone It’s my first post here and I can’t seem to figure out my question after extensive research. I have low HP 3406e(2ws08414) with a 1439153 camshaft. One of my injector lobes is starting to get worn down. I ordered a replacement camshaft through YNG LLC. They sent me 1390538 camshaft which is rated for the higher hp arrangements. They said that they bet their left nut on it that it will work with no problems. On the contrary the cat dealer say that these cams don’t interchange, but they don’t have info on how they differ . What will happen if I put the 1390538 into 1439153 engine arrangement?
