I have a old uniden home base from the 80's, its been modded, has a knob
where the phone jack was, has L M H as the the selector , guessing low med high?
Then on the back has a knob, i took the cover off, can see where they are soldered to the
board . I got this off ebay, person was auctioning off his grandfathers cb home base stuff.
Any info what these knobs/mods do would be great , thanks..I tested it, everything works, trans & receive's
    great.

LMH switch is likely channels, lower and upper kit. Essentially the same as C-D-E bands on export radios. The knob on the back I couldn’t tell without looking at the inside, however I’m inclined to believe it would be a variable power control. As stated, not sure without seeing inside, but that would be my best guess on that one

I always hated to see a person butcher up the looks, of a nice radio with extra knobs and switches. President/ Uniden radios were some of the best looking base stations on my opinion. I’m sure you’ll really enjoy it, once you get the mods figured out. Congrats on your purchase.

Back is variable deadkey for sure.

95% sure the selector is for lower 40, regular cb, and high 40 channels. It looks like the wires coming off selector are headed towards to pll chip. Common mods to this era radio. Likely clarifier is also unlocked.

The dead key thing was supposed to be part of the Dial-a-watt mod which makes it swing. A lot of hacks just lower the carrier and it has little or some swing to it.

I am wondering what board do you have, it seems it is a 8719 board.
