I don't know if this helps or not, but I had a DUI in 92. I let the recruiter know this and it didn't seem to be a big deal, just a couple of questions and then off to the work history.

I had applied to Werner and when they got to the DUI question the interview stopped with their recruiter telling me that they don't hire folks with any DUI in their history.

Way I look at it, it's a good thing if the process continues.

Good luck to you. I'll let you know how everything goes as I continue.

I had a student in May that had an offense (not DUI) that kept him out of Canada, but I'm not sure if Prime was aware or not that the offense would keep him out. The third trip we had was to New Brunswick, and he was turned around at the border and had to spend the night in a hotel while i delivered the load.

I know 2 DUIs are forbidden for any CMV into Canada. But I think one is permissible based on the time and what happened? - there is some complicated thing on the internet that explains it. 1 DUI should not prevent you from entering canada as long as its a long time ago (7..10yrs.. I cant recall) - At that point, Canada considers you rehabilitated. I know Roehl won't even look at you if you have had 2 of them ANYTIME in your past.

If you have a dui, it is considered a felony in Canada. You have to ride in the back seat of your own private car if you enter the country for a vacation.
They have no sense of humor!
Maybe we would have less people breaking this law if we were stricter on it!

We finished or last day of classroom work at school today and tomorrow we start straight line backing! I am really looking forward to it.
We have been doing the pretrip and sitting up in the cab with the 53 foot trailer on them. Those things are so big and long! It is amazing!:biggrin_2554:

Yesterday in school we saw the gruesome videos of people that were killed by drunken drivers. It is hard to have sympathy for anyone when you see a seventeen year old girl broken in two laying in the middle of the street because some irresponsible person could not have the sense to not drink and drive. It would not bother me if they lost their ability to drive forever!

If that were my daughter, I would probably hunt the person down and finish the job if they survived the crash!:biggrin_2553:
