    got accepted by swift for jan 12 in tenn. Can you give me the rundown on the academy and the routine after? Also the pay increases?? Seen them somewhere but cannot find them now. Any and all info would be great thanks alot.....gonnabe

    Go to their website and get to the driver's page. There should be a link for pay and benefits. Go there and there will be another link for "sliding pay scale". That will show you the increases. They are at 3 months, 4 months, 6 months, 9 months, and 12 months.

    I did the same type of test for tugboating . . .

    The hardest one was having to step up a foot and a half step at 60 steps per minute for 5 minutes . . . I was dying lol

    Does swift have that test as well, or just pushing-pulling-lifting?

    If you have the option, do the flatbed certification. That way if you decide to do that in the future you are already cleared. The flatbed test is 85 pounds instead of 75 and a higher lift on the waist to above shoulder lift. Also there is an additional pull down test (45 degree angle to simulate bungee application). If you pass the flatbed you automatically passed the van. Our tester said that if we were having a problem with the flatbed he would let us do just the van.
