I looked at both SNI and L/S. I always heard the same thing about L/S. Many good loads never see the board because a broker will call his favorite drivers. At least at SNI we DO NOT DEAL WITH BROKERS. SNI hauls nearly 10% of americas freight, that means more loads and more choices based on weight, length and total revenue. I have found that once you find the good lanes you can make good money and run 2200-2800 miles a week and if your really good can take your 34 at home every weekend. On SNI choice board you can't look at one load by itsself. If a load paying 1.20 a mile for a quick 400 mile run at 20,000lbs gets me to a 1400 mile run paying 1.80 a mile is only 7500lbs and is preloaded and dropped on the back side then you take it. All about averages here. Make the most for running the least. On a program like many are on they take what they get and really have no say. If you fail here at SNI on it choice board then a self evaluation may be in order.

sni does have a finance co you can buy trucks from but this is not a lease purchase program. its for owner operators with experience only. i would suggest buying a truck elsewhere as from what i have seen the trucks sni has for sale are way overpriced.

talk to a sni recruiter. they can email you a screen caption of the load board. for us to tell you what loads are on the board in what area and what the rates are get realy close to a security breach. im not comfortable going there.

    TennMan Thanks this.

The other problem with talking about specific loads is that they can change quickly. As soon as a driver chooses a load, it's gone. I like the simplicity of Schneider's system.

Etch, I couldn't agree more that you have to look at planning a "tour." That is what is so frustrating letting Roehl's planners pick my loads and not getting to look at the load board. I need to get home tomorrow, but they do their typical closest truck, fly by the seat of the pants dispatching. Who knows what they'll come up with. I have always believed that they can dispatch 60 trucks better than me, but I can plan one truck better than them.

Ok i'm approved to transfer to Choice and tentatively set up for Jan 9th. I'm gonna buy a cheaper truck to keep costs down as far as fixed and hope to pay off in 24 month's. It'll be a change from being a company driver but i'm looking forward to it.

Good luck, Remember the SNI maint will inspect you truck during your onboarding. I came in with an older 770 and had to have a new 5th wheel installed. I was very happy with SNI and was taking new stoves, washers and dryers to calif (LA) and bringing back payless shoes to Fort Worth.

Thanks, well i am going to buy thru schneider and i know lots of people will say don't buy where you work but i've been with Sni for 7 years and know the ropes for the most part and i'm confident i'll make it. My concern is the economy.
