Thanks for the offer companyman but i've got the truck already. It will pass Sni inspection too. What are you going to do for a truck after the first of the year you buying another one? Are you leaving Sni?

ive been trying to get out of trucking for years. but when it comes down to it i cant afford to work for minimum wage which just about the going wage where i live.

so is "i dont" an answer? chances are id buy another one. i have an idea in the back of my head to buy a cabover for cash and run it since im home almost every night now

yea i'd like to be done with trucking. I enjoy the job but hate being away from the family. I'm in the same boat as you as far as jobs where i live i can't make 50k a year if i worked 3 jobs around here so until i win the lottery i'll drive a truck. Gotta do what we gotta do i guess.

after 20yrs im no better off than i was. just older. trucking is a joke these days so i gave up and leased on here. i like it because they dont bug me and i can pay the bills. thats about all i expect anymore. sad isnt it? lol

actually i do like it here. i was all set to turn the truck back over to the bank when i came here. so the fact that im still trucking is kind of a testament to schneider.

tndiver, I see you're a fellow volunteer. I am buying thru Schneider, most say don't but it'll be paid for in 2 years and i know schneider's system so i plan on staying with Schneider til i get out of trucking. As far as money wise i can't say yet because i won't actually be ob O/O side until jan 9th. I'm taking all my vacation now and transfering after new years. I will be going IC at slow time of year but think it'll be ok and pick up from there. I'm looking at the big picture and long term in order to keep what little sanity i have left. Merry Christmas

companyman i'm glad schneider has worked for you. Lots of driver's don't get to know schneider's system and then they leave and bad mouth the company. Their are some things that schneider could do better but that's with any company. Good Luck and Merry Christmas

they gave me a promisary note to put $2500 worth of tires on the truck next week, i only have a grand in my maintenance act. theyre pretty good like that. i have money in my private maintenance fund at my bank but i have been trying to trade this truck off so i want to keep hold of my money for downpayment. havent had any luck getting financing though. sfi turned me down too

Is the truck you have now paid off? If so run her for a good bit longer and bank the extra cash and then try and pay cash for the next truck. Either way i'd put on the tirees thru schneider and save what you have in the bank for a rainy day. Merry Christmas
