If you run one antenna and the other as a dummy to keep the look, the split coax will not work and you will need a new one.
Personally I think you will have better luck tuning it that way compaerd to running two antennas. I have only run one on my truck for years. -
Without a doubt, average is 20 bones and well worth it.
Your dead set on the "Look" of dual antennas whipping in the wind so buy the girlfriend a new power string and she'll love you for it.

Ok thats done. New coax it is. Now what about tuning it? What should I get/have done. I want good power. There is a site rrcom (google 3rd one down) the have a 12watt dead key and a hole list of stuff they can do. Please check them out under Dustin's mods.

No body! I'm self bumping.

Not sure where you bought your radio ?
The standard for mail orders from "decent" shops are to ship out "tuned" units.
I dont mess with shops I dont know,I carry acouple spare radio's,mics and antennas to get me back to my area if needed.
Judging by the sound of most radio's I hear
up 81/83 etc pretty well confirms the lack of good wrench's.
The clean radios are always from other States south and west of Pa.(IMO based on personal experience) -
I got it from right channel radios, They had an option for the peak and tune(I think I jumped the gun on this hole plan!!!) But I didn't get it. I have talked to a few local guys and they told me about a place down in delaware they have said its a good shop and the guy seem to know what he is talking about. They also said he guys not a jerk and won't screw you. But that remains to be seen. Oh I'm near 76 and 476. Like where they meat up like 5 miles away.
