I will add u-joints to that list. They have dust seals. I only ever greased them until I could see a little bit of grease at each cap. Hate grease getting slung around all over everything.

If they are seized it can be a mfer to change them. I wouldn't recommend attempting this to those that don't have a lot of experience wrenching. If they are seized up bad they may need pressed out. Not to many guys have a way to clamp the axle down or chain it to the floor. Heck most guys don't have a floor to chain it to.rabbiporkchop Thanks this.

you don't make shields out of plastic buckets?

Think, empty 5 gallon buckets with some minor trimming cutting modifications and mounted to surround the u-joints (except for the bottom so you can access to grease). Maybe even paint them black if you dont have some already molded in black plastic. It could be done to look clean and definitely keep your undercarriage free of all that grease getting slung around on everything.

Look they even sell them on the evil empire Amazon although not very cheap imo. I have a bunch of white ones already.Cam Roberts Thanks this. -
Wal Mart sells white or blue ones for about $3 each but for some reason black ones are $30. But as luck would have it Advance Auto sells black ones for $5 each.
