A word of caution on your NTP warranty. It doesn't cover the things that are prone to break that will cost you a lot.

Just the stuff that breaks that will set you back $5K. ( Wiring)

Lone Mountain is known for more than a few horror stories as well.

    There's some luck needed too.

I bought my truck 3 years ago and everyone told me I bumped my head.
Was fortunate not to have any big hits right away.
I know first hand that ntp warranty isn't worth the paper it's printed on.

This is why I would take it to a Kenworth shop and have them go through it. Oil analysis, Ecu download, maintenance history, combined with my almost 20 years of driving experience. No it is not a fool proof method, But if I conduct every test on it that can be done with emphasis on the emissions system, turbo, etc... really go through it. I just need 2 solid months before I have the capital I need to cover a catastrophe.

That's fine and dandy. There's a YouTube video some dude did all that, spent several thousand dollars, everyone blessed it........then it blew up on the way to his first load lol.

Get a dyno with blowby test run too. And a good mechanic you trust to give it a critical lookover.
I think if I was in your position, I would go for it and if you do, good luck.

    _Invictus_ and Dave_in_AZ Thank this.

I think I have seen the video you’re talking about. And you hit the nail on the head that is what scares me. As I said before I’m going to save money for another couple of months to a few months I believe. I can save about two grand a month. That should be a bit better.

Also, if I remember correctly In that video the warranty covered the drivers motor blowing. Still that does not cover downtime.

Just don't pin your hope on any warranty or words of encouragement from LM.

Hopefully you have some cash saved up, and will be good at managing your money.

Save every penny. Once you get maybe $50K in the bank, you can breathe a little easier. $100K then you can take some home time.

Explore Penske as an option. They keep all maintenance records, and have some excellent values on trucks, especially now.

    _Invictus_ Thanks this.
