There are worse places you could start. Stevens has a very good training program, and they stress a culture of safety. A lot of people leave after 6 months or so for greener pastures, some stay. Their longest tenured driver has been there 35 years or so. Most are gone within a year though.
No matter who you go with, don't lease. No matter how good they make it sound you don't know the business at all, and you are still learning to drive the truck. One step at a time.
Good Luck.

The main problem you have is it that the Freight in Florida sucks so there's not a lot of companies based out of there compared to other states. Also with you being a new driver pretty much any company that's going to take you is going to be a mega most likely so you just need to pick any company that will take you and get your experience in for at least a year then move on to another company that will be more permanent for you. In all honesty don't pay attention to the horror stories you hear about any company because the experiences are different for everybody. It's all about what you make of it. Hope this helps and good luck.

I agree with other posters on here, don't listen to others, there attitude and tolerance level could be different and to you it could be a piece of cake. If they are going to take you on and you live in Florida that means you will get home. Good luck.
