I'm from jersey too and just finished winsors. I was able Togo through one stop career and get a grant for the school. Seems like the carrier schools need u to be a state resident where it is. Do the applications first for a job and see if u can get job offer. Try swift first

I wouldn't waste time with the Intelliapp at first. Call and speak to a live recruiter, explain the situation and see what they say. If they decline you, ask them if they can recommend a company that would probably take you.

Good point. I talked to a really nice lady over at Jim Palmer this morning after being turned down and she recommend Western Express as well as Carolina Cargo.

Be patient because it is a journey. A lot of companies look at their risks base on a package of things, it isn't personal but business and sometimes it sucks.

    Good luck.

Please take driving seriously, too many just think it is all about the driving but it is much more.

I had a DUI in 1990 (yep, 27 years ago, I drank a beer and drove a car)...and to this day Canada considers me a felon and will throw me in prison if I am caught driving a Commercial Vehicle in their particular part of North America.

Have you looked on Craigslist under transport? Strangely enough, a lot of companies advertise on it. Make a list of the companies that offer CDL training and then go directly to their websites and see what the driver requirements are. Intelliapp is a keyword filter applicant tracking system, and without enough of the correct buzzwords, you will get shot down every time.

Just remember, you're gonna be someone's ##### for at least a year, and it can be a hard pill for some to swallow...

Thanks for the honesty. Yeah, mine was a robbery at the age of 18. (20 years ago) As far as getting into Canada with a felony, with some work, and cutting through a field of red tape it can be done from my research.

Still on the right path. Been home for 8 years now, not so much as a ticket. I will continue to move forward. After 11 years in that hellhole, I learned my lesson.
