Not by choice. I was sentenced in NJ. 85% law, which states any felony considered violent in nature must serve at least 85% of sentence before release. It was a mandatory max out. I did 11 years 2 months. 1997-2009. If I even had the slightest chance of early Parole, I would have taken it. But that wasn't the case. Been home 8 years now, solid work history, clean living, and have a beautiful little boy. All that could be gone in an instant, I remain humble and aware as always. I was given a 2nd chance. I will not #### that up. Be well.
