Tooth abscess is not a minor thing. That can lead to sepsis (blood is sick) which can kill you if left untreated. That is an emergency. He needs to get it taken care of immediately.
They are pushing you and not listening to you or your trainer. No load is above a drivers health. The only time you push it is if you are in the middle of a load and get sick. You never pick up or take responsibility for the next one until you are healthy again. Dispatch makes it out to sound like some doomsday scenario if you don't take the mission critical shipment. Remember it wasn't you who said you'd get it done in the first place. It is their problem.
This is just a taste of cr England. Not too many people have positive things to say about them. You should quit at the next terminal, cut your losses and go home on your own dollar with your stuff and find a new employer and keep your record intact by which I mean don't let them say you abandoned the truck or left it in poor condition or any of that. You do not need to give 2 week notice. Don't let anyone try to tell you otherwise. You will find another job in short order. Maybe take some time off when you get home.
Need some advice

It's not his truck, it's the trainer's. No need to worry about abandonment. I say keep rolling legally until he has something else lined up.
Ffx95 Thanks this. -
austinmike and JReding Thank this.

As for a new job, do some online apps before any phone calls.
You have no reason to be deceptive with a new employer, so be up front about the reason for leaving, if asked.
These don't require a new physical:
Freymiller
TransAm
Magnum Ltd.
J&R Schugel
Navajo Express
Other drivers can probably add names to this list. -
Start documenting everything on paper, name names. That is in case you get fired.
There are anti corection laws that protect drivers. You are getting your chain massively yanked. It is enough to make me angry again, that is not a good thing expecially if I can aim it at a Dispatcher or bungling fool inside the corporate office.
Your trainer needs to go to a oral surgeon on a referral or to the ER on emergency, get that abcess fixed properly. If you do not there is a possibility of blood posioning or even a migration of infecton into the brain itself eventually killing you or worse. He is legitimately sick and getting sicker fast.
Document everything. Make sure you wring out your 70th precious hour and then sit for your 34 reset.
Be prepared for yelling, firing and drama rolling down to you as the customer and shipper threatens to FIRE YOUR company over this horribly bungled and mismanaged load.
I leave you with this thought. If a company with hundreds or thousands of drivers stoop low to rely on a sick trainer who must rest and a green trainee out of the entire driving fleet workforce to #### with you... then YOU have a PROBLEM with certain persons in your Company determined to destroy you.
If I was a company with 10,000 trucks Im pretty sure I can dig up a hell raiser to get back to ann arbor or wherever from Salt Lake on this load.
You just have a taste of what your next 6 months will be with this out fit. Do you want to live with this? Im betting not.
Enough is enough I say. Get your trainer into medical help and make sure you sit that load properly far from anything at the 5th hour for your nice sweet 34 reset. And then stand back.Dumdriver, LoneCowboy, JReding and 2 others Thank this. -
Why every one telling the guy to quit. Just tell you DM you don't have the hours to run the load. If your out of hour, you can't do anything about that. I would say 5 hours is out of hours. Plus the trainer is sick.

Your partner needs to get his chomper yanked out, bad teeth are nothing to sneeze at. (Sorry, thats my bad pun for the day.)
You need to find a new job if they're jerking you around like that.
