I was fuming when the road mechanic told me what was wrong. Here I was thinking it was mechanical or wiring. Last thing I would have thought would be the filters,.. I just had them done. Just goes to show,.. you really cant trust anyone,.. shame you need to babysit the guys you are paying good money to work on your truck.

That loose filter thing is something you've really gotta watch. Some mechanics get it in their heads that you don't tighten up filters with a filter wrench. Only hand tight. That is wrong. For spin on filters, typically 3/4 to a full turn extra after the gasket touches the filter base and you'll never have a problem. Filter bowls and canister type filters usually once it stops turning, give it enough to snug it up and its good to go.

That used to be a great stop before Petro took it over. One of my favorites. Now it is terrible, Really miss the gun cases.

I don't want to stir your already boiling pot but #### dude, chill, mistakes will happen. I do all my own oil changes and I've forgotten plenty of stuff when I'm in a hurry. Filled my pickup with oil once only to find my drain pan overflowing with fresh oil. Over filled my pickup once, crawled under and drained a little out checked the level, looked good shut the hood and rolled, two weeks later when I lost oil pressure I remembered I didn't tighten the plug.

Anyway, keep a cool head, talk to them and remember we are all human. And remember next time your truck won't start to check that your filter is tight

Years ago, I bought a set of Samson drive tires at that Petro in Amarillo. Got the free 3 axle alignment. Got out on the road, got over 50 mph, and the steering wheel jerked to the right. I almost lost it. Got back up to speed, over 50, and she jerks hard left. I couldn't control the truck. Made it to the TA in Terrell,Tx, showed them my receipts. Told the manager on duty what happened. He had his guy do a 3 axle alignment and the tech told him that the last tech set the steers the toe outward. The manager at the TA called the manager at the Petro and told him what his alignment guy was doing. Didn't cost me anything to get it fixed. I rolled out and it was perfect. TA Corporate called the next day and asked if everything was okay and I needed to stop at another shop to check the alignment. I told them that everything felt right but if needed, I would stop in Grand Bay.

    Sorry for late update.

My load shifted on me last night.. didnt see it till this morning. Got it sorted and then went to see manager.

Manager says he isnt authorized to give refunds or give store credits in the amount I was asking. Had the nerve to question if I had done anything to loosen the filters after I left. Momma would be proud.. I kept my cool.

So I have to call corporate and get it dealt with that way.
