Need some driver advise...

    Amen. My experience to date has been that this is non-existent and I am baffled and surprised at how hard this is to find...at least for a new driver.

    Don’t know why op is getting so much hate on this. It’s a $14k truck. Probably got a good deal on it or wouldnt of bought it so it’s probably worth more than $14k. Most likely going to need work done in first month and he’ll cover that. I’m sure he’ll give them a break on the labor when there’s more work needing done down the road. I doubt anyone here is giving out interest free loans, or any loans for that matter to help out underprivileged drivers, just because it’s the “right” thing to do.

    I would set up a separate company for the Owner Ops. Too much liability with leased drivers running on your authority, etc. 1 driver could put you out of business with safety violations. Give your owner ops a piece of the pie if you can so they profit in the long run, perhaps like a owner percentage of the new business entity.
