Just bought LPs, Firestone caps for $2100 OTD at TA in Bloomington, IL. Not thrilled about the caps vs. virgins but for what I was looking at it would have been $1400 more.

Buy tires in a state that you dont have to pay sales tax on them, save 30 -40 dollars a tire. IL,IN,MO,KS PA, GA,WA probably some others.

I've been running Bandag Megatrek on Bridgestone R280 casings. could'nt be happier.
I took a tour of the retread plant in auburn washington(gcr) to see the process. It alleviated the fears. Plus , Bandag warranties the retread.

I've got over 140,000 miles on them so farm, no issues.

Pricing varied, as i replaced the tires as the original retread that Arrow had on the truck wore out(quick). Best pricing was Southern Tire mart. One set(2tires) otd $440.
    Worst GCR fife,wa-unmentionable....$$$$$$ :biggrin_25510:

These are the ones I bought. Only retreads I would consider would be these or the Mich. Surpised I got them this cheap. With prices going up on tires, more and more drivers that never retreaded are doing that making it harder for companies to get good casings.

Tire guy that does our farm tires said he never bothered with sending tires out to be retread but now he is getting 3-4 sets a month sent out from local drivers. All of those would have been new tires in the past with casings being sold to Michelen.
