To those of you who think the experienced drivers are too good to go to Werner or Swift, first of all they have played the game and know how to win, second of all you would be surprised how hesitant those mega-carriers are in hiring experienced drivers with good records! They usually look at you as if something is wrong wondering why you are at their doorstep!

I understand what you and rerun are saying. I was just stating that they could work "somewhere" if they wanted to. If they are broke and on the verge of being homeless and still refuse to work for one of those companies, then i have no sympathy for them. :)

I agree with you JBrake. If you have the option to work for a decent company then put forth the extra effort and do it. If your license is bad and your credentials are shady then yes go for seedier companies. I am not bad mouthing them either. You can make some money at those mega-carriers but your chances of success and happiness are much greater if you were to go to a smaller, reputable company that doesn't have a high turn over rate.

    Wargames Thanks this.

my bad, i misunderstood your posting.....and you are right, if they don't wish to work, then they cannot blame anyone but themselves. but as chompi did say and you are aware of, we "old timers" did our time, busted our humps, put up with the stupid crap from "MEGA-CARRIER", and we just don't "need" to go back to 'em......

    Wargames and Jbrake1960 Thank this.

Actually i completed my course at Allstate Commercial School in Shelton. The school in my opinion was satisfactory. Atleast i didn't have to ride with 8 ppl in the cab!! Also do you guys think I should use the job placement or is it a waste of time?
