Be careful with the foodbank option. Sounds like a wonderful program but your training pre- and post cdl may not meet the hiring requirements of most companies. They want to see certified schools, 53 foot trailers, sleeper trucks as opposed to day cabs, and then otr training. Dock time and local driving, breaks the training cycle as far as otr goes...be careful. Would hate to see you put in your time and then not be hireable to go otr until you go to school again.

Ask the recruiters at the companies you are considering.

    Goood luck to you.

So far good response from recruiters. FL has graduated approx. 1000 drivers. My understanding
is that many of the drivers have been hired before graduation. The program uses all the trucks
you listed plus smaller delivery trucks; a bus and forklifts. Supposedly trained on all.
    Thanks Again!
