    Bingo--what he said....

Yes, some companies are very specific about what schools they will hire from (check out their websites for names/lists, and/or call them).

Once you figure out who you'd first like to drive for--THEN choose the appropriate school.

LOTS & LOTS of opportunities out there; for the time being at least, it's very much a driver's market.

    Good luck, Driver...

If you are still looking… I would recommend San Jacinto College in Pasadena TX….And if I’m not mistaken they are doing CDL training for free.

I live in Houston. I went to Houston Community College Truck Driving School. It was actually a lot of fun. That was nearly 5 years ago, don’t know if it’s better or worse now. But I liked it. Every night after school we’d all go out and drink. When we all passed and got our CDL’s we had a party and drank champagne.

For me trucking school was a lot more fun than the actual trucking that came afterwards.

I had a job offer and they paid for my school with a 1 year contract. Many people there didn’t have a job lined up and recruiters from various companies wound come in sometimes several a day and give us their pitch.
