I have been looking and doing my research on trying to find a reefer company that is worth a #### and having a hard time finding anything. Seems like I can’t find anything that will pay a living wage. If anyone can point me in the right direction towards a company with good pay and decent home time I would really appreciate it.
My husband is the truck driver and has 11 years of OTR driving experience with reefer and dry van and we are out of central Cali.

Getting tough with the current recession. Reefer companies have made hiring criteria more stringent with the influx of drivers from other segments of trucking. Maybe have a chance with Marten Transport which has an excellent pay structure. Keep in mind, Marten is also being flooded with new applicants with years of experience.

Don't focus on CPM; look at the whole pay structure, such as guarantees and accessorial pays.

Someone with delay pay pulling reefer ... back in the day grocery warehouses were terrible. Might be better now with drop & hooks.

    Marten if you want otr.
    Any grocery DC for local.

I'd imagine McLane or DOT would pay pretty well for that area. Not sure that's what he meant by reefer, though.

The problem is most OTR reefer companies are basing their pay on Midwest and southeast drivers. 80k/yr in Missouri or Kentucky is decent. It's also a lot more convenient in these areas for companies to get hometime regularly.

DOT is pretty popular for reefer drivers. Those that have applied in California though say there's no openings; the company is very popular. Apply anyway!
