I had a Wil 1k on the roof of my car and loved it - then I tossed a 102 on top of a pot belly spring on top of a MFJ Super Tri-Mag mount up there, and never looked back. I sorely wish I could put that sucker on my ProStar. Unless you are going to run over 1000 watts, a 102 is going to be better than anything else, especially for the money.

that is not an amp. it is a modulator. it will key a low wattage and swing to 120 to 175 watts when your talking (modulating). that is why that little box is so great at driving a bigger amp.

its good, but not behind your general lee, it is more suited for a smaller, less powerful radio, and to drive a bigger amp with said less powerful radio. you will drive the snot out of it and not be doing much more power than you are now with just the radio. 1st get a good antenna and the swr's set as low as possible, anything 1.5 or lower is good, 2nd if you feel the need for more power after you have your antenna system set up, then get a 250, 350, 400, 500 watt amp to go behind the general, make sure to get the general and the amp "matched" to each other for optimum performance.

these guys have already given you some good advice, so see which direction you can go with the antenna and go from there. just my .01 worth
