Well for one, if your just going into training, you're not getting a new truck and quite often not even a newer truck upon you're return. You'll get one that's got quite a few miles on it, probably had several drivers in it. You're only in the learning phase so they'll give you a truck that's all ready beat up. Next, it depends on your trainer. Are they putting you with a trainer and truck out of Spokane or Tacoma. If it's out of Tacoma, then by all means take your POV. More options during orientation. If it's out of Spokane take the bus. Their yard is right across the street from the Petro at exit 272 in Medical Lake, and it also depends on what hotel they house you in. If it's one of the dives downtown, take your car, if it's one of the nicer ones, plenty of options with in walking distance.
Took the greyhound once. Never again! I would fly, rent a car, ride a train, or even skateboard through fancy gap before I rode greydawg again. Good luck in orientation and stay safe.
Actually they get searched really careful. Pull up to the Milesburg Buckhorn, kick the 40 people out to eat, and pounce on the luggage with drug dogs while everyone is inside blissfully chomping on burgers and swilling lemonade.
Had to pick up a truck once that a driver left in another State when he quit. So I took a Greyhound. Indiana to Pa. I concluded then that when you die and if you unfortunately end up where none of us want to go, you are eternally riding Greyhound. That help ?
