No I wanna change cause how they treat drivers. They got me stranded, no communication whatsoever, shop doesn't fix your truck in one go. I love doing miles but the more miles I try to get the more they're making me wait for next load.
I absolutely agree 3 months is nothing. Even whole life is nothing when it comes to learning new things. You'll always keep on learning but if you're working hard the least you deserve is some good pay, good communication, better equipment, hometime. And I don't think I came far after 3 months. I know I haven't seen anything yet. Made some mistakes but improvised the situation and got out of them. I just want some good miles, good pay, hometime. That's it.
Why leave Western Express after 3 months? Most likely because they start new drivers at 40 CPM. 2 cent bump after 6 months. If another carrier will offer 50 CPM that is compelling.
If you applied to them yesterday, it will take a little time to hear back. It's only the day after Christmas. It'll probably be the new year before companies do any viable hiring. Just be patient and be a pro while you still work for Western. When the new year starts, just call the companies you applied to, and say, "I'm calling to check the status of my application." It's worth mentioning that more often than not, it takes time to get to where you're going to make some good money when you're starting out. I did ok my first year, but I'm probably an anomaly.
