Yeah, I think I got lucky; the guy I'm with is a like-minded individual AND even that being the case you're absolutely right, it's still hard sometimes. Teaming was NOT my first choice BUT I signed that darn contract so I really gotta make the best of it.

Would rather drive solo. I don't care what kind of truck you have, it is impossible to get a good sleep in a truck going down the road, you basicly get sleep when exhausted. Try sleeping across missouri, louisana, or I95 across S. carolina etc.

hi first i have run team 12 years with linde/boc gasses. pay is split at .58 cpm. 21.00 per hour usually split so 10.50 we average 6-7000 miles per 6-7 days 12 hors holiday and have never missed christmas.we make 75,000 to 80,000 per year not includeing benifits. really good ins and 2-3 days off every 6-7 days. ok ...you will live in a truck with someone else and no matter how nice the other guy is it barely works. if i were teamed with kristen ritter on spanish fly i could only take so much, belching, farting, bad breath, stinking butt, chidish ways, shirking responsibility,etc...you are on the road for 6,500miles which means you are putting your life in the hands of someone else for 3,250 of those miles which means 2 x the risk of a head on or other accident and ending up inthe sleeper upside down in your undearwear, hanging in a net while the truck is burning. the only way out is thru the sleeper opening. if you get out... no net means you exit thru the windshield in a sudden stop, you choose your option.i live on sleeping pills to sleep [ativan] the roads are so rough[indiana]so after 12 years i figured this out,and i am going to work as a solo driver and will stop pushing my luck...very good company..but teams just suck... stay safe

The only way I would team is with a G/F or wife, otherwise its solo for me. I'm gonna have to disagree with Flathead on getting the Hazmat Endorsement. Its worth the pita. I couldn't tell if PAM hauls hazmat or not. If they occaisonally do having hazmat will get you out of an area quicker, otherwise you and your teammate maybe sitting a couple of days until you DM finds a nonhazmat load.

hardly anybody other than local specific will hire without a HM endorsement. its not that big a deal. i cant believe how much they have dumbed down the test. answering your name correctly is the first question. only 2 ? about un#s or rq. rest is like a car driving test. it really is made to weed out really dumb people. if you cant pass that you do not need to drive. its alll basic driving questions. do not physc yourself out.
