I've got to run into California to pick up a trailer for one of my customers. My truck is pre emissions and I have no desire to go back anytime soon. What do I do? Just roll up in there like a boss or what?
Need to go to Cali....

You can use the 1000 mi exemption. You will need to go online to the carb website to see what paperwork you need

With all the pre emissions trucks running in, out, and around all day long ... every day ... Personally, I would just roll in and do my thing .... as long as you are apportioned for cali and have IFTA I highly doubt you will have any trouble. Keep er under 62 if you're out by yourself, otherwise go with the flow of truck traffic.

I spend at least 60% of my time in CA. Being as there are a good number of first series Century Class Freighty's, and more than a few Volvo's that are older than I am, I don't think you have much to worry about on a one time in and out.
And I have yet to see the CARB police at any truck stop.Diesel Dave Thanks this. -
Like said already, just roll in. If you want the extra piece of mine, roll in late at night. I have never seen them set up at night in the southern part of California. What gets to me is, I spent some $$$$$ on my retrofit to comply and I haven't seen them set up anywhere in the southern area.
itaff, strollinruss and Dave_in_AZ Thank this.
