I agree, for the money, doing the homework is worth it. I do have an idea of what I want to do with my cdl. I'd like drop and hook dry van loads to start with. Hubby and I want to team and see the whole country, so otr on wild boards would be awesome. I do have a couple companies in mind, and I keep looking at the "love my company" boards to see what drivers think. But not having a lot of friends who do it, my choices seem limited to the internet or mugging truckers at the TTT, lol. And these questions are definitely one size fits all professions.
Need to interview drivers

Is this a test? I need a translator, a drink, and a preist!
TravR1, Texas_hwy_287, Caterpillar6nz and 3 others Thank this. -
Yeah, I have... Which is why instead of doing things like going to a company owned school or taking out a loan... (One school said it's 4500 if I pay it up front, or 2k down and 4500 after I graduate...) I looked into a grant. Otherwise I'll wait til I got that 4500 saved up to go. But as long as I'm waiting and saving, I'll jump through the hoops to hopefully get it paid. Didn't think it'd be too much of an ask to get a trucker or two to talk, hehehe. Specially when we're on a forum where truckers talk and give each other advice and answer questions.

What is the deadline for the response?
-
Couple weeks. The sooner I get my homework done, the sooner I get on to the next step. I have tours with the other two schools next Tuesday. Then all I'll have left to do is get these interviews done. Not that I mind going to have dinner at the truck stop, I've wanted to hang out and see if truckers will start up a chat so I can ask silly noob questions anyway... Seems evenings are the best time to catch up with off duty truckers who may not need a whole 10 hours to sleep.

If you can handle the road life -
I understand. Unemployment pulled this question on me when getting my Grant. It was just the question of if I would continue with it and not waste their Grant money.
I'll interview. Would be easiest to do it tonight. I get tighter on time. Then back on the road next week. I'm home now. PM Me...MBAngel Thanks this. -
Started a convo with you
I guess that's the same as a pm

Well, I hope I did that message thing right. I went to your profiles and there was a message box, and I typed in there
Hmmm, ok, found the "start a conversation" button.. -
Just watch out for the drivers who WON'T stop talking. You've been warned.
stillwurkin, TravR1 and MBAngel Thank this.
