Wasnt meant towards you. Only to others. Im willing to answer your questions if I can.

True, they suck and shouldnt be trainers. Most dont last long.

Good for you, no one cares troll.

I wasnt allowed to use the jakes neither, I learned how to use the brakes and keep the truck at a safe speed WITHOUT JAKES. Its part of learning how to safetly operate a truck. Jakes can fail, you need to know how to brake properly.

It is rediculous. That right there is a red flag for safety. I would have parked the truck and call the primary prime number and reported him to someone.

Theres a quick fix for anything like that. Youre supposed to be in contact with your FM, at least weekly. Most instructors/trainers are NOT like that. If anything like that happens INFORM YOUR FM!!! You should meet him before you leave. He should give you a card with his number. All else fails, send a QC message

Cant blame prime itself. If an individual is at fault it was that person. Prime as a whole didnt do nothing wrong. They cant keep tabs on all 5400 drivers. But you can make a difference in report RIGHT when it happends.

If i so much as tapped the service brake my instructor would come un glued yelling jake, jake use the jake.
Then I'd get the lecture again bout how he does not want to buy new brakes, to check his brakes next time we stop I'll see they are barely used.

That jake brake crap messed my shifting up a lot because I'd forget to turn it off.

I was taught to accel to 62 with the cruise because the truck would not go past 57 with the foot pedal.
stay off the gas pedal it waste to much fuel.
stay off the service brakes it waste the pads.
stay off the clutch it's going out.

I guess from what I've read here you should get a contact number for your instructors fleet manager and the number for security before you even get in your instructors truck!

As luck would have it my instructors fm was fairly new to the position so I guess he didn't think it was weird that him and I never spoke with each other weekly as others are saying should have happened.
If you do get with someone like mine document it all the best you can take pictures. I wish I had.

Prime would not be my first choice! Probably not in the top 10 for training, but I have zero interest in fleecing a truck! I also wouldn't run a fleece truck for the rates they pay! My cousins did fleece a truck via prime.
