Personally I wouldn't plan to unload anything. Not worth all the trouble.

I don't know...driver unload can turn into some extra cash under the right circumstances.

I don't know. Between the equipment you would be allowed to use to unload the truck, repalletizing if necessary and staging the product their way, and any injury that may occur, it may not be.

Possible? They already have them installed in ~ 100 trucks. The new batch of 680's in BRF all have them.

Ive heard from many drivers that it won't be going over very well. I believe most people don't have a problem with the camera facing out but a lot of people are very unhappy with the driver facing one. I have not actually talked to a driver that has one tho. But the ones I have talked to said they would be looking for a new company if they are forced to get one. I personally have mixed feelings on the situation.

So there are 2 of them, 1 for external and one internal for you. How are they choosing which trucks get them for now?

As for the hotel during class time, if you choose to stay during the week and go home on the weekends, how does that work out with the room or with roomate? Will they even allow that? I understand you can opt not to stay there at all. Just wondered about that.

You can go home on the weekends. You just have to check out Friday morning and then check back in Sunday night. If you choose to do that make sure you contact payroll so they don't deduct that from your pay. It will make it a little cheaper.

I wished this decision wasn't so difficult. Yes, I want to do this. I am trying to gauge it based on my current employment. I am a temp at McKee Foods in collegedale, tn. Yes, they do pay good for the permanent employee. I'm not making bad for a temp. Hours are gauged based on orders, meaning, I've been sent home early several times already. Once 1 hour after clocking in. This was all done based on the Hostess issue at the end of last year. Rumor is we won't be there much longer, but, supervision doesn't want to speak about it. Well, Hostess is now under different ownership and planning to be back in production with product on shelves by mid july for the plant in columbus, ga. Four others will reopen also. Their applicants were about 3 blocks long last week. The supervisors won't speak in reality how this will effect temps. Just saying it won't hurt, sales have been up and the product they bought from hostess will create a rise. The new hostess owners kept the most popular products and sold some of the rest. The virginia plant will do that production, not us. You can google pretty much everything I'm mentioning. I had to do 90 days to become eligible to apply for employment and I'm now 4 months in. I've already applied and not a word. I'm not mentioning this for you guys to give me answer really. I just had to tell it. If you want you can give your ideas or thoughts, either way is fine. My wife thinks I need to do it. You know how women can be sometimes though, till they have to deal with it, its not an issue. I've drove before and she said she got used to it.

I have to be able to afford being at the class. I am saving our income tax money as much as possible. Trying to do as much side work as able. I know we are being used for their "need" at the moment. Just wish I could foresee better the outcome or how soon the inevitable will be here.
