It's so funny how quickly we can get off topic on this forum. I'm sure somebody will be threatening to lock it down before too long. Anyway, I think it's funny. Go to a Mill Saved, get out and start making money. I guarantee that those 8 weeks courses probaly have the same amount of road time as a "Mill".

I find it funny that people believe we came from rocks after it rained for millions upon millions of years. That requires as much faith as my faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Also, if you knew anything about the Bible (Read Genesis chapters 1-3), God created the world perfect and everything in it until Satan beguiled Eve, man chose to sin, and rebelled against God. So, before you beguin to judge the almighty, you might want to know a little about him.

"And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgement:" Hebrews 9:27

If God were to judge you today, according to the 10 commandments, would he find you innocent or guilty? Have you ever lied? Have you ever stolen anything? Have you ever commited blasphemy? I think it's safe to say that everyone now-a-day has told at least one lie. Just one sin is enough for someone to be found guilty before God. This is why Christ died on the cross for you. The gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ. All one needs to do is accept that gift.

"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" - Romans 3:23

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." - Romans 10:9

"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." - Romans 10:13

When all is said and done, a person doesn't have to believe in hell to spend eternity there. If you die without Christ as your personal saviour, you will stand before God without excuse. The fairy tale ends at that point. :biggrin_25513:

    Back at the ranch.

I'm still looking in the area for schooling. Once I get my class B I'll be driving about 350-400 miles every sunday. Hopefully this will be a start. I'd consider being a school bus driver for the Chicago area, but the one way neighborhoods are murder. Parking on both sides of the street is enough to scare me away. I've seen too many college students bump cars that way.

I never said anything about 50k. To be honest, I'd like to spend a year OTR and then move to a dedicated / regional run. I expect to make 12-15k a year in the ministry, depending on the size of the church or where I'm at on the mission field. So - 50k is a lot. My schooling will cost me roughly 16k for the remaining credits I have. However, as I mentioned, most of the better paying hourly jobs are in Chicago and that's a bit too far with gas being so high.

I know a man localy that got his Class-A and began working for a local construction company. He's home every night and makes upwards of 25/hr. I also know a man driving doubles for UPS. He does nightly dedicated runs from here to Indi. I'm assuming their years of Class B helped.

Preach it. That happens to be my fav. verse. Isaiah 55:11

    LoL. very true.

    Amen.

All of what you said is true. At the same time, we have to use caution. Accepting the Lord as our savior, is not a 'cure all'. He also requires works. Jesus reminded us, many times, while on earth:

And behold, a man came up to him (Jesus), saying, Teacher, what good deed must i do to have eternal life? And Jesus said to him, "If you would enter life, keep the commandments". -Matthew 19:16

"Do not think that i have come to abolish the Law or the prophets. I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. Therefore, whoever relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven". - Mathew 5:17-19

"Not everyone who says to me, Lord Lord, will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, Lord Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name? And then will i declare to them, i never knew you. Depart, from me, you workers of lawlessness" - Mathew 7:21

IMO, the parable of the wedding garment, is telling the same. We enter the wedding feast (heaven), by accepting God's invitation (accepting His son as our savior). However, we also must have on, a wedding garment (the righteousness of the Lord's teachings). At least, this is what the Spirit, tells me.

I was actually raised as a Christian and turned away from it when I was 16. I am more of a scientific person and that tends to conflict with religion. Do I have problems with people who are religious? Not really, because they tend to live normal and nice and moral lives. What I do have a problem with is when the religious folk say that I am not moral or have a bad belief system simply because I don't believe in God.

Now, answer this. Had you been born in the Middle East you wouldn't be preaching those words of Jesus. You'd be speaking about Mohammed and Allah. You are simply a Christian based on your geographic location and being taught something since a very young age. Nothing more, nothing less. The only reason why religion still exists is because it was primarily spread by the sword, not the word.

I also never believed that we evolved from rocks. I have never heard anyone actually say that. It's easier to believe in evolution than it is to think we all came from Adam & Eve and didn't turn out to be mutated humans that came from an incest family. What about David and Goliath? Perhaps this was just a fairytale added in for good measure? What about Noah's Ark. You really think that a ship that small could house all of the worlds animals.. and two of each? Do you really think that having two of each will be enough genetic diversity to further the species?

I could go on and on and I don't believe in books that have been mistranslated for years and had things added and omitted based on whichever child molester says he is closest to God.

With that being said. I'd love to see you in a technical college, but if you don't have the cash then go to a CDL Mill and pray that it works out in your favor. I am done with the religious talk...

Somewhat. Still doing research, though. And yes, I'm steering back to the subject at hand. However, if you'd like me to answer your comment before hand, I'll gladly do so in private so that this thread doesn't get locked.
