assuming you find a crane strong enough, you still have to worry about tipping over when you try and lift. Even 20K is serious weight. You would need out riggers. This assumes the crane could be mounted to the trailer without ripping it apart. most likely you would need to add structural to the trailer. As you extend out the felt weight on the trailer gets extremely high. Honestly, even if you bought the 10 ton crane the other guy listed, you would not be able to piviot without flipping.

And how much more would a receiver be willing to pay? I doubt itd be enough to cover the expenses, upgrades, and upkeep.

yes It would have to have riggings to keep it from leaning. I had the trailer leaning with just a head stone before.

As it is now they paying frieght plus a crane. In this would charge more than the frieght but less that the crane and frieght combined. That will be the selling point of the deal. Crane it self is a high cost it self. for the ies Bases foot or Head stones they charge by the weight which is around 14.50 per hundred lbs, average load could bring 7K

Are you always going to be able to get the trailer at the right angle and within the reach of the trailer mounted crane's arm?
I would be afraid that final placement would require a crane that can move the load away from the road.

Your working in a very niche market and will have to spend a lot of money to make this crane happen. The one thing to think of is, what happens if this doesn't work, you now have a very expensive trailer with no one to buy it at a decent price.

If they are handling the crane, I'd just let them spend the money on getting these off your truck, if your crane breaks, guess who's paying for the crane to get it off your truck....
