I apologize for the misunderstanding. I'm not working for Knight at the moment and thinking about joining them. I currently work for another company name we will not disclose for known reasons. I'm just so lost right now about where I need to go from here. But I know a change is needed from the company I currently work with. I read the blogs and its so hard as many of you have stated to find a good company with my lack of experience. The company Im currently with I never get over 1500 miles and I have dealt with this for three months. I can't live off what they are giving me. Thanks to everyone that has given me advice. :biggrin_2556:

Have you confronted your DM about this? Three months really isn't a long time. How often are you going home? Are you waiting until your delivery time or are you trying to push to get there as soon as possible? Not blaming you, but you are inexperienced and there maybe a lot of factors as to why you are not getting a lot of miles. How is your relationship with your DM? If you can give us some insight as to how you are operating maybe we can help.

At this point in time I highly recommend you do not switch companies. I would give it at least 3 more months. That will put you at about 6 months experience and you will be more apt to find a better company. Will also give you some time to adjust a little more.

    BettyBoop 2 Thanks this.

I've talked with my dispatch about the miles and things have not changed. I'm going home on the times that I request and not complaining about that. I make my delivery times when there are no issues with my truck. I'm usually trying to get to my appointments early in hopes of getting my next load. My relationship with my dispatcher is good to my knowledge. The problem of miles are an issue on the weekend when he is not in the office. I like my dispatcher but he doesn't seem to be able to control the weekends. So most of the time I'm sitting on the weekends and waiting for him to come to work on Monday.

your best bet is on friday ask him to pre-plan you for the weekend, tell him you sit all weekend and if he don't believe you he can look at your loads. most weekend shift dispatchers are just there for emergency and it sucks for the driver.

If i understand it you are only getting 1500 miles a week and working weekends? Call melisa at Epes and see if we can help! Should be able to turn 2400 iles and be home to sleep in your own bed on weekends.

    BettyBoop 2 Thanks this.

I have explained this several times and he has not changed it yet. He promises more miles and then gives me excuses to why it didn't happen. Now where do I go from here.

If I didn't know better, I'd think you were with Western Express.

I say apply to some other companies, seewhat they offer and once you get a job offer give your 2 weeks notice and switch companies. without knowing which compamy your with it's tough to jyst say go here. But go online and apply to a couple companies that appeal to you. I am with Schneider and like them as a whole but only you know what your looking foor. Good Luck
