Needs insight info

Chicago is about 6 hours north of me. So far their options sound a lot better than the others.

 

Give it a try; you can do real well there and get excellent training.
You'll also graduate with an Illinois cdl which means you won't have to go through the nightmare of switching an out-of-state cdl to an Illinois cdl.

 

I'm really hoping I can get started there. Roehl is only hiring for flatbed in my area. Personally I don't think I'd like the flatbed division.

 

Keep trying for FFE.
One big positive about FFE, is you attend cdl school in Illinois and graduate with an Illinois cdl.
If you attend school in another state, then you must go back to Illinois and change your cdl to an Illinois cdl. The authorities in Illinois make you do everything over again, just as if you've never had a cdl.
Other states keep it simple and just take your out-of-state cdl and give you a Illinois cdl. Sometimes they might give you a new eye test, but that's about it.

 

That's what I'm going to try to do. She said I should hear from her by Thursday. She is in the process of pulling all of my background info. FFE is just the best all around so far.

 

Keep us posted. If FFE doesn't work out, there's plenty of other choices.

As of now I'm still waiting to hear from my recruiter. Tried to get in contact with her yesterday and today but no luck yet. I did hear back from Prime yesterday say that so far I have been approved to go. Only thing is I have to get my permit with all endorsements and a DOT physical before coming, and I have to pay 155 for a new DOT physical and another permit when I get there. That part I don't understand.

 

I don't understand Prime wanting you to do that either, unless they don't want to spend money on it and then someone fail.
