Dont hang up. Just negotiate a better detention while you are at it.

Im not even OTR and I know that.

You gotta milk it when going in...coz getting out is like getting kicked in the nuts

Another factor to consider is that FL is already full of everyone and their brother tryna get out, after dumping all the IRMA relief supplies, so heck, its either 0.75cents/mile OR deadhead

I mean yes it's a little tongue in cheek but not really. We're paying you to go there and come back empty basically. When I give someone 3500 dollars for 1.5 days of their time it's not because they are going to make that coming back out.

Sorry. 4 bucks a mile is not paying me to come back empty.
It's barely paying me to run it one way.

Keep believing that. Already got enough competition on my outbound loads.

you are "paying" that for a "1.5 day" yeah but whats the cost to do it? it looks high and might from where you may be sitting at, come over to the other side and see more of the full story, (fuel, wear and tear, insurance, food, etc etc are not cheap/free)

Welcome to brokerage 101. When the market dictates rates at the 4 buck a mile range they say we are gouging. When the market turns around they will tell you 1.50 is a fair rate on that lane.

I would rather go back deadhead empty than work for free... it was a full load 44K lbs .. what gets me is their response .. " i book them at that rate all day long!" and I say to you who accept that rate and are reading this, "YOUR ARE DUMB IF YOU THINK YOU ARE BREAKING EVEN"

Man - I can't even wrap my head around offering .75c/mi on a full truck. Maybe on a really light, really small partial, but not on a full truck... Jesus.

In his other post he said that if he paid someone $900 on 100 miles, they shouldn't be asking for detention. The dude clearly thinks truck owners are getting crazy rich and should be making less money

    JimmyWells and spyder7723 Thank this.
