I dont blame ya!
I would have responded like: "So why aint you calling on that carrier to do it again? They do it all day, Right?" -
Yeah, I know. But still, I'd figure to be paying at least market averages...
-
If you go in 600 mi for $4/mi and come back empty to where you were, that's only $2/mi avg...kinda low. I been avg $2.75/loaded mile so I'd need $5.50/mi to go there. Or I could do it for $4.75/mi and take my chances that I can find $.75 going back to Memphis, but there might not be anything, so it would be a risk. So I'd just as soon take $5.50+ or nothing. I got that two Fridays ago going to Atlanta, on 600 loaded, should be able to get more going to Florida.

"low requirements" goes to certain point... you needs lots of money or very very good credit and some cash to get started with your own base plates
-
Not really it can be done with 10k, including truck. Or less with financing. That is not a lot of money.
-
you need operating cash too 60-90 days worth... and even at that if you get started with that low cash, means you owe a bunch and your monthly payments are sky high, how the hell you make money on 0.75?? fuel alone will eat 0.50 at least!
-
I think the operating assumption is that it's better than deadheading out. At least you get paid something.
-
The vast majority of truck operators have no idea what market average rates are. Just look at all the posters on ttr talking about 2 bucks a mile.
-
You don't make money on 75 cpm. But many guys will still run it.
Id bet my house the majority of startups in this industry don't have 7 days of operating money. They take a fuel advance in their very first load and then give another 2%for quick pay.SL3406, stayinback and rollin coal Thank this.
