Pepperidge Farm definitely doesn't remember that. IL-83 between Elk Grove and Downers Grove was t-bone central until left turn arrows were introduced in the late 80s.Sons Hero, Star Rider, Lav-25 and 4 others Thank this.

83 was definitely the wild west when those NW burbs started exploding in the 70's & on. My aunt moved to Bloomingdale in the early 70's, we used to run 83 all the way from Alsip to North Ave, then over to 53. That was viable for about 5 years before traffic made the toll road a better option.gentleroger Thanks this.

I remember when people made a left turn after LOOKING for oncoming traffic

"Bruh, I had my turn signal on, couldn't you see I needed to turn?!?"tscottme, Bean Jr., Numb and 1 other person Thank this.

If I were making a left-hand turn, and I pulled out in front of you and stopped in the middle of the street in front of you, waiting for traffic from my right to clear up, you would bend over freakin' backwards to ensure consequences to me and my employer.

So far I am winning this poll 12 to 5. Just saying.
