All I know is that you take a corner to fast in a tanker you can kiss your ### goodbye. In a dry van you have a better chance of learning from that mistake.

Trying to send you a pm..... Look, do not worry about starting with tanks.. You mentioned starting with flatbed. Well I pulled a flat for over 1,500,000 miles, before i switched. I can tell you one million five hundred thousand ways something could happen or go wrong pulling a flat. Not saying you shouldn't do flat i was just giving an example. Don't rule out tank ,its an excellent career.
IMO tankers is an excellent career move.

Is a recruiter the only acceptable point of contact at a company?. If he was scheduled to start orientation on the 29th then surely someone else at that terminal knows about it. I would be looking for contact details for a manager etc at the terminal and calling them direct to see if I was on a list for orientation. If I couldn't get a manager then I would be calling anyone else I could from that terminal. Hell, I would even go so far as finding out what hotel the company uses and calling them direct to see if I was on a list for a room there.

BTW, is there any reason why you think you aren't good to go for the 29th if that was the last information you got?. Did the recruiter say you would be getting specific information or documentation necessary to begin orientation and then not provide those to you?.
