I had to carry hundreds in my own money sometimes for the cursed tolls. It was NUTS... aggravating. Had to be a accountant every payday to count pennies. Did that .25 I paid to the main toll in Richmond get frigging reimbursed? noooo. Working the Tappan Zee half the toll of the GWB etc etc etc.

I finally found a special route through essentially the entire space from Maryland House Conowingo through almost to Boston before tolls kicked in. That year Jersey Slammed a law saying ALL trucks stay on the f interstate system. I attempted to continue my toll free ways... but the local police kicked me off.

I can rant. But all of you gliding across GWB NB with company issued pre-pass automatically electornically transferring 106 some dollars you enjoy that. I had to do that with my own money before transponders.

Oh well... It's way easier to run the rockies I say.

I'm still here and I do have an update for this thread. But I have to re-freshen up I've been busy with life. I've been working out of town for 3 weeks at our warehouse living in a hotel and while that's no excuse it's easier to do this thread at my house on my computer then on my phone. But will get an update coming because I know it died off.

Ho guys I'll be around with that update coming very soon. Life this month ended up changing directions on me. I was on the road for work for 3 weeks this is my first week back home on my normal grind in almost a month. The bottom fell out at work so to speak and I was away for a month trying to shore it up.

Um, then over this past weekend I have a brother 1 brother that's all I have and he got married this past weekend, so that's why there wasn't much of an update this past weekend. But I do understand that an update is in order. It takes a little time because I try to be accurate with information. Anyhow that's about all for now.

You don't owe anybody anything, but good to hear things are getting back to whatever passes for 'normal' in MikeLand. :D

I wrote more about it on my other thread over in social land but I was on the road working volume truck for 2 weeks straight which is our version of OTR truck load were out and back, but we take the 50' to all the big stops and big truck load back hauls.
I was on night shift from our warehouse in Pittsburgh going to Cleveland or Buffalo, New York.

However I'm back home now on my regular run I had not been to my regular yard in almost a month:

Most food companies everyone thinks of the pup trailer truck that goes to the restaurant and delivers and that's true that's a big part of it, but there's a lot of behind the scenes like transit/shuttle and volume truck/ truck load that nobody sees that run at night and take care of all the big stops and drops.

    Mike2633,

Thanks for the report on this book, it's one I've always meant to read but never got around to it. I found your posts while reviewing google search results on CF, a company I always found interesting. I drive line haul for a small regional LTL that is using Converter Dollys that were once owned by CF, I will post some pictures soon of them. Looking forward to your next post, Keep up the good work !
