Some interesting early truck photos.
I'll treat myself to a copy of the book if and when I get some paychecks coming in. -
They talked about the early CF "Truck & Trailer" combos. What happened was Oregon had rediculus length laws so what CF did was figured if they got rid of the hood and went to cab overs they gained 4 more feet of cargo space and that gave them the 22foot truck 6 wheel truck as they called it back in those days.
-
Ahhh, that makes sense. At first, when I saw one without a trailer I didn't get why all the axles under a 22' box.
-
I guess the agricultural loads they hauled wool and stuff were actually very heavy your talking like 300lbs a sack. I'm look at that load of wool they have it on the roof and everything.
-
Imagine driving a loaded truck with drum brakes all around..lol
Love the look of the old trucks..real style.
Thanks for sharing.Mike2633 Thanks this. -

I bought it off of Amazon.com just typed in Never Stand Still under books and they had a few copies it's a thick book 400-500 pages kind of expensive, but not awful $16-$20 dollars.
-
