Hypothetically speaking if I was to go back over to the Truckload side it would be with Tristate Commodities. I've always loved their trucks and I always wanted to pull a hopper trailer.
4mer trucker, HalpinUout and Mike2633 Thank this. -
Alright everyone without further wait it's the moment you all have been waiting for. That's right:
CANNON EXPRESS
HalpinUout Thanks this. -
CANNON EXPRESS
Forward by Mike2633
When we think of trucking in the 1990s, we often think of it as a magical time and look back with great nostalgia, Schneider and JB Hunt with there Cab Over International's:
That's the Schneider and JB Hunt I remember.
Yes trucking in the 1990s was a rich tapestry of cab over sleeper cabs roaming the country running irregular routes.
Except for Werner they didn't have as many cab overs they were much to flashy for that.
Ahh yes the golden age before trucks became ugly pieces of plastic and fiber glass junk.
I remember Werner with those Freightliner Classics and Kenworth W900s
The Swift Werner 500 of 2008 made me want to get into trucking and drive one of those big blue Werner Kenworths and join the race but make sure I was on the winning team which would have been Werner.
Instead we get situations like this now a days out in Oregon.
Anyhow as special as all that is, none of that great stuff will hold such a special place in our hearts like Cannon Express one of the 1990s most prolific carriers.
Join us this week as we discus and explore the vast world of Cannon Express.Mike_77, bzinger and HalpinUout Thank this. -
Those JB and Schneider COE's back in the 90's were governed at 60mph if memory serves me. I called them rolling road blocks in the states that had high truck speed limits, they were a hazard.
Before Werner ordered the Classic XL's with the raised roof sleepers they had Classic XL with the 70" flat top's. -
The " bus " as we called em back then .
Aka 9700 internationals .
Decent ride for a cab over and could shove em in a corkscrew . -
So today I read the intro to The JB Hunt story. There's this word in the intro the word is logistics I'll tell you what that all means to
Cannon Express tomorrow.Mike_77 Thanks this. -
Mike this is one of the better cabovers I have driven. It had virtually no doghouse so there was plenty of room in the cab. Sorry about the poor picture quality, but it was the 90’s. My pager didn’t take pictures like my IPhone does now.
Mike2633, Cardfan89, Mike_77 and 1 other person Thank this. -
