I refuse to stop and spend a dime at the Love's in Pecos, TX. During the ice storm I stopped to get something to eat. Oil company trucks of course have all the spots taken including the driveway between the scale and tire shop. I park next to a Werner truck on the other side of the tire shop. One of the shop guys comes out and tells us to move. I asked if I could just go grab some food then take off. He shook his head. Had I been an oil field truck it wouldn't have been an issue, I could have taken my 10 there.

Texasbbq you ever have that happen? Go to some place and "OH gosh this 3 cases of beer or widgets or what ever the heck, we just can't do it, it's all just so much oh my goodness the whole day is wrecked now."
I mean for heavens sake, I take the stuff down the stairs and put it in the cooler for them, they don't even touch the crap and even that's to much for them. These places are LAZY at times.texasbbqbest Thanks this. -
I've never had that happen but I'd be a little irritated at that too!

Target
Delivered to the Target DC in Pueblo, Co., middle of August, arrived at 8 am for an 8:30 appt. Backed in, checked in, bobtailled to the parking area. 53' van of adult diapers. 10 am rolls around, it's 94 deg. outside heading to 105 deg. I fired up the truck for A/C, crawled back in the sleeper. 15 minutes goes by, hostler pulls up, says I can't idle. Tell him it's 94 outside, I'm broiling in the truck. Says it's company policy, says he'll notify a Supervisor. I tell him ok. Hr goes by, knock on the door, hostler and one of the D.C. Supervisors. He says I cant' idle, I point out the temp, says it doesn't matter. I asked him if he understood what a wrongful death lawsuit was, he looked at me quizzically. I pointed out that if I died of heat exhaustion, a good Trial Atty. could probably convince a Jury that my wife's name above the entrance will be good replacement for TARGET when the wrongful death lawsuit is settled.
He told me I had to leave, ok, I pulled outside the gate, parked next to the SWIFT dedicateds and idled up. He said I could idle there. -
When I was driving dry van freight back in the mid-90's... Waklefurn and 2 very unfortunate physical encounters with a lumper, and then a dock supervisor at 2 separate facilities, put Shop Rite on my "no buy" list.......now Wally-mart and their mind numbed robots entered that club......if you're there at the SAME facility everyday, delivering the SAME amount of DIESEL for your fleet.....you'd think they could quit reading off the script and think on their feet.....
