Lol @ the folding aluminum ladder. Excellent idea, and great that it's capable of supporting 400lbs. But can the bunk support 400lbs? If I recall my '16 said the max pay load was 250lbs.

They opted not to have the new hood mirrors on the press release because they are butt ugly and stick out.

The ones on the old Crapcadia are close to useless; They give your a great view of your hood, but I already know how ugly the Crapcadia hood is.Last edited: Apr 18, 2017
LoneCowboy and Grumppy Thank this. -
Even more than ugly, its fugly.

Makes a T2000 look like the belle of the ball....
LoneCowboy and Al. Roper Thank this. -
Too bad the ladder is only up to 400lbs cause I'm 703lbs.

The last good truck freightliner made was the FLD. The Classic was also pretty good up until about 2006.
Still would rather have a Pete long hood.
And technically there hasn't been a decent truck built in the last 12 plus years. Plastic throw away junk. And designs by 5 year olds. -
Have they surpassed the reputation of krapcadia andd freight shaker?

So basically Freightliner finally caught up to what Volvo's been doing for a long time? Doubt I'll get to drive one. But it looks goodLoneCowboy and uncleal13 Thank this. -
They will do the crash net for the lower but not for the top eh?
Also I don't like the idea of a box above the driver's head above the drivers door. I do like the idea of boxes up top in what would be useless space.
The front end is non existance. It's almost either if the axle is set so far back or the entire cab is moved forward which will affect the ride a bit.
We can do without that fancy desk and seating. Rather have a storage bin below.
Just my two cents. Would I buy it? No. Ive all the freightliner I can stand, the 2001 century was the best of my time and there were better ones years before that model old school.
I did notice the dash board does not offer much to the driver. It's all in that small digital screen where the jake controls should be. Im not sure if I would cotton to that too much. It's pretty sparse. I need my gauges to form a good picture from temps and pressures around the rig. Any of them being out of line can be spotted pretty quickly and then evaluated for a possible problem. But I suspect many younger drivers would want a car experience driving these big rigs now a days.
Finally but not least, those bunks need to be in small tubs themselves instead of being just planks where you have to tuck the sheets under. One good bridge or bad stop will cause the sleeping team driver to slide forward. That's not welcome. Maybe it's outragous to consider that as a problem for some. -
I'd like to know why Freightshaker still uses those ugly visors
