I'm wondering how 'tight' one would tighten the tube o-ring style fittings on a new AC compressor?
I have that YORK style (ugly vertical old looking thing) with the suction/discharge on the TOP of the unit.

Looking for any tips on swapping mine out. I have the new one and it's ready to go.

PS. All my freon already leaked out, so I dont need to worry about that.

"Gutentite" with oil on the o-rings and a touch of antiseize on the line nut threads. The port connections are aluminum but they will a lot. The threads often peel off during line removal from the interaction of the steel line nut and the aluminum connection along with a lot of moisture. The York is a much better compressor than a radial type. The old cast iron Yorks seemed to last forever.
